Obituary of Edwin Shuter
Shuter, Edwin Harold (Ted) Retired Lieutenant Colonel
Died at Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans' facility on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in his 100th year . Born in Birmingham, England in 1915, he leaves his children Leslie Shuter Lewis, Bob (Roxanne) Shuter, Dodie (Glenn) Ingram and David (Dana) Shuter; his grandchildren Ted (Karri), Ken (Jenny), Josie (Mike), Cory (Cecilia), Owen, Alan, Greg, Robin, Erin, Evan and Brent; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Lily, Addison and Mackenzie; and his sister Margaret Morris. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Edith Shuter, his brother Cpl. Wilfred Shuter, his sisters Dorothy Shuter and Edith Shuter and his parents, Ted and Edith Shuter. Ted was a career Army officer with the RCR and then the Queen's Own Rifles. After his 35-year army career, he became Secretary at The Hospital for Sick Children. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Toronto, The Canadian Legion Branch 165, the Granite Club and the Chartered Institute of Secretaries. The family would like to thank nurse Shama and the staff at Sunnybrook for the loving, competent and understanding care provided for the last few years. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W.
