AUBREY MARTIN An indefatigable, innately peaceful, eternal optimistic polymath and unselfish gentleman who never complained. At 94, he joined his beloved Wyn on June 16, 2014. Survived by youngest sister June; sister-in-law Marion; nieces and nephews and families. Father of Wendy Mackenzie (Norman), Cynthia and Nancy, who all learned early to saw, hammer and rewire, not knowing until our 20s what a "handyman" was and that you had to pay. Proud grandfather of Kayella, Katherine and Aubrey, delighted great-grandfather to Ryan and, with a lifelong insatiable need to fix things, steward of 534,263 tools and hardware finds. Meticulous in his hobbies and collections; ever curious, days prior he asked the Hz of his Doppler ultrasound. Manager of Construction at the TTC, "Mr. Subway" cherished his 45+ years (only 2 sick days) and relished its challenges, rarely stumped. Charter member OACETT. In WWII, he was a reconnaissance photographer and Sergeant, 39 RECCE Wing RCAF, last giving a D-Day talk this past June 6th. Miles Chapel Limited, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville), followed by a gathering, then private family interment. Anteinternet, Aubrey traced his Newmarket-area Quaker family tree to 1668 in Philadelphia and attended some Quaker meetings.
