I got to know Marc these past four seasons in the Press Box at the Argonaut home games. He always arrived with a smile on his face, even through some very tough times. Because of my day job, we also had some in-depth discussions on what he was going through and what to expect. I hope in my small way, I was able to give him some comfort. He will be missed.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of Marc. I was one of his students at Humber and his class was always one of the ones I looked forward to every week. Marc was always in a good mood. Always had a joke ready; could teach you a ton just by giving an example; and he was always willing to hang out after class to help out or answer any questions. His work in the radio and voice fields is amazing both in quality and quantity. My sincere condolences to the family. I hope you take pride and comfort in knowing Marc earned the friendship and respect of so many people in a short life. R.I.P. Marc, you'll be greatly missed.

It is with sadness that I write this to the Webber family, but it is with extreme joy to say that Mark was a friend and industry colleague. Mark was a true inspiration to our students and staff at Humber College. When Mark joined the Humber Radio Broadcasting faculty I was so pleased to see the glimmer in his eyes that he truly found another avenue to share his experiences and provide guidance to those who were just as passionate of the industry as he was. It was the little things he did with the students before, during, and after class that will stick in my mind. I know many of our graduates will remember him as a gentleman but also as a catalyst for their dreams. 'Rock on Mark!' Marc was my teacher at Humber College and I am so sad to hear this news. My deepest condolences to his family and friends... I was so lucky to have had him as a teacher, he helped me get my contract voice work going and taught me so so much about the business. He was a really great person. Rest in peace.

Dear Debbie: Lisa-May and I are very sad to hear of Marc's passing. I have a lot of great memories of Marc from the years we worked together. He always seemed to be in a great mood when he would pass through the newsroom on his way to the on-air booth; he'd always call out my full name in that big voice, throw the call letters at me, and I couldn't help but smile. It's also clear what a great impression he has made on so many students pursuing radio careers. And I know how much he loves you. Unfortunately, we cannot join you today but please know we are with you. Sincerely, Paul Cross and Lisa-May Taylor and Keeford

I felt very sad to hear of Marc's passing. When I think of Marc, I immediately start smiling...he just had that kind of personality that made you feel so good! I met and worked with Marc at the Pelmorex Radio Network in Mississauga. Whether it was Marc Allan on the Adult Contemporary network or Marc Chambers on the oldies network, you knew you were going to be entertained and informed. Marc also hired me to do some DJ work - first at Misty's bar on Dixon Road and then to fill in for DJ Wayne McPhail a couple times at Hollywood-On-The-Queensway for the 1050 CHUM Oldies Dance. It was always a thrill to work with Marc and I will truly miss him. Thank you so much Marc Chambers for all the positive things you've done in the radio & tv business.

To the Webber (Chambers) Family: It's with a heavy heart that I write to offer my sincere condolences to Marc's family and friends. Marc and I worked together at the Pelmorex Radio Network where, like most places he worked Marc was a jolt of energy and passion that lit up the building. His enthusiasm for our business was contagious and his professionalism always intact. Marc's on air work and his work in other areas of the business will be missed as much as we'll miss the simpler things like his smile, deep voice, sense of humour and candor. I'd bump into Marc from time to time, the last time we bumped into each other he gave me his card. I noticed the back side of the card had a wood motif to it. Without missing a beat Marc said "If you take enough cards, you can panel your den with them!" I'll miss the chats we had about where Radio is headed, what's happening in the voice business and what station in the market needs a shake - up. Marc was a great guy and a big Talent in our Business. He'll be missed by legions of fans. Condolences to Marc's family and friends. Adrian Bell

Dear Deborah, My deepest and sincerest condolences go to you and the Webber family for the loss of an amazing person whom, I will never forget. Since last Saturday, I have been looking through old memories and such and I think I found every photograph of Marc that I had taken of him and with him from years past. When I look at them it amazing how he’s smiling in ALL of them. The last Marc and I spoke was years ago, not long after I left Canada and moved to the U.S. but I never really forgot Marc. In fact just about two weeks ago, I told Grace that I wanted to call him and give him a shock, a voice from long ago. Marc always made you look inside yourself and if anything you always walked away feeling inspired. He used to say to me “Jon, life is for the living” I always think of those words when I’m having a bad day and I always appreciated the advice he used to give me at any given time. I used to sit with him in is booth at CHUM and just have the time of my life. Marc was always fun, always guaranteed a good time. He was one of a kind and he made everyone feel important. Marc is the Godfather of our oldest daughter Jessica (now we have three), to this day photos of Marc holding Jessica sit in beautiful frames on our fireplace mantle. I wish I could have told him how I never forgot him and actually, how much influence he had in my life. Unfortunately, I waited too long. It’s something I will have to live with. When I read all the nice things said about Marc from others on the Internet, it makes me happy, because he deserved the respect and love that he got. Marc, I am sorry for what you went through, I wish I could have been there and have seen you just one more time before you left us. Maybe some day we’ll see each other again. Remembered always, Jon, Grace, Jessica, Isabella and Karolina Caputi

To: Debbie and the Webber Family: I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about Marc. As a former radio personality, musician and VO student of his, it was just 18 days ago that I received my last E-mail from him. He ended with the words in print as he did on the phone "Rock on Brother" He used to call me Mr. Suekey in his deep baritone. As everyone else has said, he was the greatest! I was a radio fan, a student, and I thought he was the best mentor a person could ever have! Doing exactly what I've wanted to do. He always told me I was genuine and I was a natural. I shall never forget him, and anything I do from now on in the biz will be because of him and dedicated to his greatness. I'll miss you ol buddy! Rock On Brother!!!!

On behalf of Jason, Garry & myself we offer our prayers at this time. We will fondly remember Marc "Chambers" from 1050 CHUM as well as the Saturday night Oldies Dance. An extremely professional and personable broadcaster who always seemed to have time for his listeners. His ready smile and positive outlook on life endeared him to all who knew him. We will miss hearing him on the radio.

Hi Deborah, Sorry I won't be able to be at Marc's funeral on Wednesday. He was a great guy and I emailed Marc a few years ago to touch base with him and see how things were going. He didn't mention anything about his illness and was his usual positive and optimistic self. Marc as you know was very generous to alot of people. He was so much fun to work with at CHUM and again at Pelmorex. We used to laugh so hard we would cry and hold our stomachs in pain at some of the antics that we would witness while working together at CHUM. Of course, Marc would always talk about you and how happy you made him. I was there at the beginning of you and Marc. I was there when he left Pelmorex and we would have long talks about work and life and just about everything else. So it is with great sadness and naturally, great happiness when I think about Marc. He was one of a kind. He taught me alot about radio and people and when we did the Argo games together, he was my hero the way he handled himself as a pro whatever he did or wherever he went. Everyone loved him and I got to know him on a more personal basis over the years. He was such a personal guy and I really can't say enough good things about the guy. I am very glad to have met him and you and I only hope for the very best for you and your close family during this sad time. Kori

Dear Debbie and The Webber Family: My name is Ian Robinson a radio buddy of Marc's here in Halifax, NS. My wife Roxanne and I had the pleasure of meeting Marc at 1050 CHUM through Gregg Lee in 1992. We immediatley became radio buds. Marc took my wife and I for a behind the scenes tour of Skydome. We did lunch with Debbie as well. In June 2005 "Chambers" and I worked the P.A. at the CFL game when The Argo's played Hamilton at St. Mary's University here in Halifax. Marc helped me lug my music computer P.A. gear from my car by the rink all the way up to the Audio Booth at SMU, it was stinkin' hot that day and we were both sweatin' like pigs by the time we got it all up there. Proof that he'd help out a friend anytime, anywhere. We had a great time that weekend and I am glad I have pictures to remember it by. Marc was a great guy with a big heart and a big voice, silenced way too soon. It was an honor to have known him and call him a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Ian and Roxanne Robinson Halifax NS

I find it hard to believe that Marc is no longer with us. He was such a strong and powerful force in my life. Marc helped me to achieve so many of my goals and without his support I would have never been able to realize them. He was a good friend, someone I enjoyed hanging out with discussing the changing world of radio and media or just the news of the day. I know that I am not alone when I say, Marc was a friend and inspiration to so many. I will miss you greatly my friend and I will never forget you for all that your taught me and for helping to open so many doors. God Bless you, Marc.

I feel a mixture of anger, sadness, grief, and a sense of relief for Marc Chambers. Hearing of his passing away Friday has me reminiscing about the man and for me personally a mentor. Marc never gave up, never stopped and in my own personal world of attempting to achieve my dream, was there to support and urge me on. George and I both kept in touch with him, and it was only a little while ago that Marc had emailed me demanding that I not give up my fight to land a gig. We emailed back and forth and I see with extreme clarity what it means to fight on....the perfect example is Marc fighting until his demise from this world. I miss him more now, and I miss hearing from him, his support and his words. That may seem greedy to some, but I did have the opportunity of stopping by his company, and what was supposed to be a short coffee and chat turned into over four hours of knowledge, laughter and hope. He was, and still is behind all of us..I cry today. Marc was unique, one of a kind and myself I appreciate that. I reread his last email to me, taking solace in his guidance, his words of praise and how I should not stop but chase it down...the rest is personal and I hold it closer now than I did when it arrived. Somehow, as I sit here today, I can see him laughing, grinning and telling us,"Throw it away!" I do cry today. I miss him as a friend and a mentor. With sincerity and respect, Larry

If I close my eyes and think about it, I can still hear Marc's voice. Big, deep, confident. But what I'll remember most is his generous spirit. Marc was always willing to answer my questions and give advice as I progressed through my own radio career. He always offered encouragement and any help he could give without hesitation. Thanks Marc, it meant alot. And if there's a Chinese buffet where Marc is now...you can bet he's in line already! I'll miss you, my friend.
