Obituary of Margaret Rand

MARGARET RAND (Miko) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in her home, on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Nikki (David), son Don (Pat), sister Helen, brother Bill and grandchildren Alyson (Jeff), Michelle (Andrew), Patricia (Adam), Laura (Brent), and David, and great-grandchildren Hannah, Chloe, Benjamin and Thomas. Predeceased by her son Ronnie, brothers Henry and Steve and sister Elizabeth. Born in Toronto, she was proud to be the first of her Hungarian family to be born in Canada. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family. She worked at many different jobs during her life and ended her career as a chef/caterer. Besides cooking, she loved music, dancing and singing. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, generosity, great sense of humor and love of life. The family is grateful for the loving care she received from Dr. Mark Nowaczynski and the SPRINT staff at Montgomery Place. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8;00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014. A service is scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy, 1630 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto M6L 1C5.
