My Aunt Marge fondly sits in my memory from as long as I can possibly remember... our families temporarily lived together back in the 1950's, just before we moved to Whitby and we saw each other rather regularly for a number of years, from summer camp in Port Perry as toddlers even when they moved to Sudbury in the late '60's.
Marge was my mom's (Elizabeth Miko/Ouellette) older sister by 5 years and they had a strong bond over the years. Even, well into their 60's and early 70's these blue haired beaties could be seen galavanting around the country and the world doing the "walker shuffle".
Aunt Marge was as kind a person I ever knew... always a smile on her face, many times with a happy song to accompany her bright spirit. Not only did I experience her glow over the years but she also shared it with my family, whenever we visited or even when she and mom came to visit us in Kamloops. She was a woman of warm relationships and loved most everyone who came into her circle. Although our children saw her rarely, the one extended visiit to Kamloops with her and my mom left a strong impression on them. They grew to love her quickly as did Jane, my wife, who adored Marge.
Chelsea Buns - when ever she needed to put a happy on this kids face, she brought out the heavy artillary... Chelsea Buns... as far back as I can remember, her chelsea buns built as many smiles on this kid's face as mom's butter tarts. (I could go on and on about her baking but I've just gained 5 lbs thinking about it)
In the later years, Jane and I had the opportunity to spend some short visits with Marge in her apartment in downtown Toronto. Although her health was degenerating slowly, her moon beam smile was always there. She took great pleasure in talking about her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. I'm sure they themselves extended her years with us... she was so proud of them.
Aunt Marge... may you rest in peace because your joyful spirit lives on most everyone you touch.
Love you, will miss you
Dave, Jane, Dan and Mike Ouellette
ps... see the picture that we uploaded of Marge and Elizabeth in Kamloops, BC

Our deepest condolences to the family. Margaret was a beautiful soul, whom we remember dearly as someone who brought joy and happiness to those around her. Not to mention her lovely collection of porcelain dolls and her beautiful cakes, which we looked forward to on our birthdays. May her soul be blessed with peace and light.
