Obituary of Albert Haddad

ALBERT HADDAD January 31, 1916 - February 23, 2014 Albert passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veteran's Hospital in Toronto after almost six years of residency. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 69 years, Claire Haddad; his daughters Lynn McGregor (Duncan) and Andrea Zabaneh (Nicolas); grandchildren Reid, Lisa, Scott McGregor, and Hala and Christopher Zabaneh; nieces Gloria, Denise Aziz and Diane Watson (Fred); and his special friend and caregiver Ursula Rattey. Born in the Golan Heights of Syria, and immigrating to Canada at five years of age with his family, Albert had an amazing long and fulfilling life, highlighted by his business partnership with wife and renowned Canadian fashion designer, Claire Haddad, C.M. He was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces and served as Captain in the Canadian Armoured Corps, World War II. He was also an active member of Kiwanis. Sincere thanks to the dedicated medical team at Sunnybrook Veteran's Hospital who cared for Albert during his stay. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
