You are in my thoughts and in my heart, never to be forgotten. How I miss your commands to "hurry up" and "let's go". Most of all I miss having your hand in mine as we sat in companionable silence when your voice failed you. You enriched my life in so many ways for which I will always be grateful.
Rest in peace my dear friend.
Your faithful companion of many years.

Dear Claire & Family! Albert will always be remembered in our hearts. He brings many fond memories to mine from Family gatherings to Friendships. He also symbolizes the meaning of Family as he has always put that first.
Love Eddie

Dear Lynn and Dunc: I met Albert and Claire Haddad at your wedding a long time ago. That was a joyous affair, as well as one that brought three bright, beautiful children into your midst. The five of you are dealing with Albert’s passing today, and hopefully gladdened by the 98 years of life he experienced: his offspring, business, ancestry and accomplishments as read in the newspaper are only a glimpse of the impact he has made. My condolences to your family....Gary McDonald

I remember well: "Girls, why don't you ride to the wedding/church/restaurant with Uncle Al."
My sister Wendy and I would look at each other with wide eyes before slowly getting into the back seat of his car. (A convertible I think?) We held each other's hands tightly, our knuckles and face white with sheer terror as Uncle Al zoomed at top speed through the streets of Toronto, weaving in and out of traffic. One of the streets reminded us of our brother George's legs: very bowed. Uncle Al would happily chat away with us probably thinking we were shy when, in fact, we were too scared to talk because we were so petrified of his fast driving.
I have many fond memories of Uncle Al and Aunt Claire. Rest in peace Uncle Al. +
Love, Terri

Dear Clair,
On the few occasions on which I met Albert we discussed with much passion and generosity of spirit two geographical spots on the globe - Majdal Shams and Scotland, our respective birth places. I shall not forget how his eyes lit up when I told him that I had been in Majdal Shams; his love of things Scottish lit up mine.
Please accept Ian and my condolences on Albert's passing.
Grace

You were a wonderful, obstinate, gruff, funny, exasperating, feisty, compassionate, hot-headed, loving and kind friend and companion who will be sorely missed. My hand feels so empty without yours in it.

Dear Claire, We want to offer you and your family our sincere condolences for myself and on behalf of my dear deceased sister Dora Mickiewicz. Dora was very fond of her friends at Amitas and particularly spoke often of you and your husband, Albert. Your long life together is a blessing which makes his loss more poignant. You all are in our prayers at this sad time.

Dear Claire, Lynn, Andrea & Family: I have many fond memories of Al during many Family occasions, working for the Church, golfing partner & as a Family stalwart. With all of that the picture that comes to mind is one of Al in full army uniform on skis in snow bound Toronto ready to head down the Bathurst Street Hill. May His Memory be Eternal

"Poem for Albert."
I married a woman who was proud of her dad.
His name was known all over the Canada,
This Albert Haddad.
He is opinionted and yet caring
he can make all happy, or Claire mad.
We knew him when he was golfing and flirting,
Was he bad!
He is in his golden years now
Quiter, older, and wiser, but sad.
We will miss him when he goes,
This ornery Syrian-born lad.
His grandchildren will always remember:
'We had an awesome granddad.'

Dear Claire,
I first met Albert and you back in the early 1970s, on my very first trip to Toronto to visit Kathy & Gerry. We lunched together at Fran's, after church, which I subsequently learned was a weekly tradition. Albert made quite an impression upon me as, the quintessential "Gentleman" - polished, friendly, polite, a man of his word, and genuine in every way. As years passed and the opportunities to see both of you were few, that very first impression of him remained constant throughout and was certainly most admirable.
It was an honour to have known him and an honour to know that he was one of our cherished Veterans. I send you and your family my sincere thanks for having shared Albert with all of us.
