Don, you were always so candid, thoughtful and generous whenever we conversed at the house or the TLTC. I will miss hearing you speak about your latest restaurant experience. Take care.

Aw, Sharon, I'm so sorry for your loss. I spent my dentist appointment on Monday reminiscing about Don with the other Sharon Murray in his life. You are in my thoughts. Condolences to his kids.

I'll never forget the day I met Don.
It was an interview with the Director of Advertising for Macleans Magazine and I wanted the job very much. I thought things were looking pretty good too until I was ushered into an office with a great window and the sternest looking man I had met. He was totally put together, quite soft spoken, deadly serious and scared me half to death. To this day I don't remember what he asked me or how I answered it. All I recall was his cold. stonefaced look as he digested what I was certain must have been the dumbest answer of all time. I waited to get tossed out of his office.
And then the corner of his mouth started to twitch just a little and his eyes came to life. I guess he just couldn't keep up the joke any longer and a different man appeared. He stood up and laughed at the great gotcha he had pulled on me and welcomed me to the group.
Don was always a gentleman. Consistent, considerate, reliable. A fair boss and a warm human being.

Don we will miss you at our home. You never missed a game watching your grandkids and always had a kind comment and a little tip for them, especially at the ball park. I will miss our great conversations about the many new restaurants that you had tried in Toronto and the insightful comments you had about them. We spent great moments at Milestone's when we were opening all the restaurants, sharing a laugh and a few glasses of wine. Most of all I will miss your Sunday telephone call when you and I could spend a couple of quick minutes catching up before you got to your real passion, your daughter Jennifer. You never missed a Sunday and I know those were moments you and she will share forever. Love Mark.

Don was the ultimate gentleman; Sharon and he were very lucky that they met, married and had such a lovely life together and we were lucky that we, the bridge group and old friends, got to share their lovely life regularly. We will miss Don and his very warm smile, genuine interest and concern in others, and his sense of humour tremendously!

I came to know Don through Sharon. I remember the publishing and advertising industry’s disbelief when Sharon and Don announced they were getting married. I must admit even I, living in the same neighbourhood said “She’s marrying WHO?” Little did any of us know what they already knew, they were the quintessential yin and yang - the gentle soul and the wild one. My sympathies go out to all the family at this difficult time.

Sha...Don was a wonderful generous person who always wanted to help. Graham & I were very fortunate to have him as our brother-in-law. He was the BEST...I often used to tell him that he was my favourite and he would say, yeah, I'm the ONLY brother-in-law...and I would repeatedly have to remind him that he wasn't my only brother-in-law! Love you! Lynne
