Obituary of Dorothy Macaulay
Dorothy Jean Macaulay
(nee Taylor)
It seems unbelievable. Just 22 days after the death of her husband, Dorothy died suddenly but peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at North York General Hospital. Beloved and devoted wife for 67 years of the late Hugh Leopold Macaulay. Cherished mother of Barb (Fred) Hacker, Bob (Carol) and Andy (Anne Sutherland). Grandmother to Kim Hacker, Kristen (Markus) Baumann, Kate (Pete) Hunter and Garrett Macaulay. Great-grandmother to Taylor and Cameron Baumann and Olivia Hunter. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humour, her zest for life and her love of golf, boating on Georgian Bay, bridge and many friends. She was a proud veteran of WWII, providing volunteer transportation and nursing help in Toronto. A private family service will be held to commemorate and celebrate her life followed by interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you send flowers to someone you love. If you wish, donations may be made in Dorothy's honour to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 375 University Avenue, Suite 301, Toronto M5G 2J5 or to a charity of your choice.
