I knew Don Salivan. Don and I played golf together every winter when he came to Florida. We shared joy particularly on the many occasions we did not play that well but seemed to cash anyway. He was a tough guy with integrity and heart. I will miss him.

Mrs. Salivan, Dina, Gregg, I can’t express enough how sorry and sad I am for the loss of your husband and father. Losing someone is never easy, but this one has hit especially hard. I remember when I first moved in with Dina in that little house on Northridge Ave. in Toronto. Mr. Salivan went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. He installed a whole new shower for me in my basement pad which I thought was totally amazing for someone he had never met before. He then came back and did a whole bunch of landscaping, including changing the backyard so that Max the dog would have a place to run without tearing up the grass. We were two very spoiled girls having our postage-stamp size lawn mowed for us, and even snow removal in the winter! I always saw Mr. Salivan as a big, strong man, with a heart to match. I could tell how much he adored his daughter and he was always there to help when needed. Being from away, the Salivan family made me feel very welcome in their lives and I considered them my family away from home. Thank you “Dad” for taking care of us girls. Lindy Kingins, Detroit, MI

Sincere sympathies to Norma and her family on the passing of your husband and father. Don was always such a fine gentleman. I can remember when Landscape Ontario was first being formed, Don was always at our meetings challenging the Board Members to make sure we treated the smaller firms fairly, and to keep the membership fees for the larger firms lower.(He was a large firm at the time :) ). He had high integrity, high ideals, and was a respected professional. He helped Landscape Ontario in many ways, especially on keeping the Board "on track so to speak", and ever mindful of the membership. May the family find some comfort in the many memories he helped create. Sincerly, Gord Shuttleworth (Past President of L/O)

To all of the Salivans; I,am so sorry for your loss. Don was a kind and generous soul. I consider him to be one of the strongest mentors to me during my early years in the industry. In my early twenties and only a few years into running the company, I was fortunate enough to land the SALIVAN account. I remember giving my pitch to Don and Zolly, at the office in Markham. I told Don that his work would almost double the size of my business. He laughed and said I was breaking the first rule he was going to teach me;" never let one account represent more than 15% of your sales." With his encouragement and guidance we developed a successful relationship that we both benefited from. He introduced me to Landscape Ontario and many other successful contractors, bringing me new work. Even when I screwed up spraying a new flower installation he would settle my rattled nerves with words of wisdom and advise everyone makes mistake's and tell me a few of SALIVANS. I have many fond memories of Don, and a great deal of respect. I'am sorry I cannot attend this week, as I'am sending this from Florida. Please accept my deepest condolences. Sincerly; Danny Passmore FRECHETTE LAWNCARE

Dear Norma, Dina, Gregg and the family, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Don will always be in my heart and memories. We shared many great times together (golfing...especially in Kananaski (he loved it there), the Masters party when Mike Weir won while Dina and I were in Sarasota, BBQing at the Crockett's with all his buddies, shopping at Home Depot in Calgary, driving over Skyway Bridge, and the great times at the cottage playing euchre) just to name a few, will always bring a smile and a tear to my eye! I wish I could be there! With Sympathy, Ted
