My deepest sympathy to all the family of Dr. Bryce. I knew him as an outstanding physician and teacher. We had many good times together and I always appreciated his individual style of humor. He was always a gentleman and a scholar. You have lost one dear to you and I have lost a dear friend. With warm regards, Richard

Bonnie: Addressed to you as you are the one that we know but please send on to your siblings. Joan and I extend our condolences. We would have attended the service but the logistics of that day were insurmountable - our apologies - our thoughts were with you. Your parents were a classy couple. We certainly remember the hospitality extended to us in the valley family home - they were a role model and shaped how we related to residents, fellows and visitors over the years. I was your dad's chief resident for the last half of '68 - almost 40 years ago! It was quite an experience when he looked at you over the half moon glasses - what had to be done got done! Your dad was a great surgical technician. Surgeons either use scissors (slow but safe) to cut tissue or a scalpel (fast but but at times terrifying) - he fell into the latter group. My role was basically to keep my hands (and neighbouring tissue) out of the way and mop up (i.e.control the bleeding)as he hurtled forward - it was "stimlating"! Remind me to tell you my funniest memory when we next meet. Take care. Bill & Joan

We were in-flight on Friday March 14th and read that Douglas had passed away and thankfully has joined Elizabeth. We were so sorry to have missed his service but we have so many happy memories of our visit to Flat Rock and theirs to our island at Pte au Baril. They will be sadly missed but never forgotten. With deepest sympathy, Charlie & Carol Barett
