My sincere condolances to Susan on the passing of her husband Ross. Susan, we never met, but Ross was my younger cousin and I always treasured him so much. I realize that families grow apart and it is sad that I did not see him for so many years. I would just like to say that Ross spent a lot of time on the Lewchuk family farm and he was always the cutest little boy who loved being outdoors. The best memory was going out bottle collecting and he jumped into the ditch to get a bottle and sunk down to his knees. I can still see the shocked look on his face that quickly turned to laugher as he realized he wasn't in trouble. I will miss him and know that he was loved by cousin Gale.

I remember Ross from his Ottawa days when we started out in this business at the Press Building on Sparks Street. He had the best taste in music, always wore funky clothes and we often met up with mutual friends at a variety of concerts at Barrymore's....ie. Chris Isaak. Such a fun guy! I was very sad to hear of his illness and his passing today. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Ross and I worked together on CBC's The National and then for 2 years more closely together on The Health Show. He was a brilliant editor who taught me much...and made me laugh till it hurt. I will pray for him and the family through this difficult time. He was a true original.

It is with great sadness that I write this short passage about Ross Lewchuk. As the top executive in charge of the post production department for the initial 11 years of Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting, I interfaced many times a month with Ross on a variety of subjects that required his expertise. He was a good leader and always had a wealth of knowledge on many issues that faced all of us as a growing and vibrant company. He had a great sensitivity to his fellow employees, his creative work and his surroundings. These sensitivities shone through in the many different projects that Ross had his hand in. His diplomatic ways with people and handling of difficult issues always served him in good stead. He was a star in the editing world that glowed brightly and consistantly for all to follow. He will be truly missed by us all who had the opportunity to meet and work with this remarkable person. I pass on my condolences to the immediate family and his friends who are gathered today to celebrate his life and his achievements. I will always have a fond memory of our time working together to build the company into a leader for it's time in the industry. I am sorry that I can not be with you to share in the celebration.

I had the pleasure of working with Ross for many years at CBC. He was one of the first editors I met at CBLT and I am forever grateful that I shared his craft, his knowledge and his sense of humour. He taught me not only about editing but about having fun each and every day. His laughter was truly infectious and his skill deeply admired by all. Gone from here, but not from our hearts. Ross, you inspired me. Susan, I am so sorry for your loss.

I have known Ross for over 12 years. We worked together at Alliance Atlantis/Canwest/Shaw. He had an incredible gift of always being happy, always smiling and always finding humour in any situation. He was passionate about his work and was one of the most talented editors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His love of his craft was infectious, and made me strive to be the better at my craft as well. From now on every time I use a font I will be thinking of him (and missing him) as he was the king of fonts! Ross was a wonderful friend who brought real joy to those of us around him and he will truly be missed. My condolences to Susan and your family.

I worked with Ross at CBC in the mid-90s. He was an outrageously talented, creative, enthusiastic editor. It was always so much fun to be in the suite with him. He was wickedly funny, and so interesting, and just such a great person to spend time with. I feel privileged to have known him. Condolences to Susan and the rest of his family.

So sorry to hear this sad news. My heartfelt condolences to you all. I worked with Ross for several years at the CBC when we were both at The CBC National News. He was known as a very gifted editor, but to me, Ross's real gift was his sense of humour. He loved to give people he worked with funny nicknames, or he would invent strange occupations he thought they should really be doing instead of making television. My cheeks always hurt when I was around Ross, because I was always smiling! Godspeed Ross.
