Obituary of Reginald Rutherford

Reginald White Rutherford, M.D. FRCP 1925 - 2013 Reg died at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Dearly beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Dickson) and loving father of Susan (Jack) and Jane (Dale). Predeceased by sons Reg Jr., David and Peter. Reg was the much loved grandfather of Megan, Samantha, Anna, Laura, Hannah, Eve and Gaelyn. Reg practiced acute care cardiology at the Toronto East General Hospital for 38 years. He saved many lives and prolonged many others. He was the chief cardiologist for many years and was instrumental in creating the coronary care unit. The funeral service will be held in LAWRENCE PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2180 Bayview Avenue (south of Lawrence Avenue) on Friday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
