Obituary of Colin Mattock
MATTOCK, Colin Edward
Passed peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2013 after a long struggle with COPD. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Shewan of Brockville, Ontario. Colin was born in Bristol England on June 7, 1937 and spent some of his early years in Wales and Somerset before coming to Canada in June, 1953. He worked for Ontario Hydro Head Office for 38 years. He was an avid reader of historical works with a passion for British military history and a proud member of the Ontario Model Soldier Society. He was also a lover of animals, having cared for many over the years, including Tibby and Peppy who will miss him. Colin is predeceased by his parents Harold and Emily Mattock, his brothers-in-law John Watkins and Jim Shewan and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Hodge. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Dianne and her partner Danny, his brother Clive and his wife Patsy, his cherished niece Joanne and beloved nephew David and their families in Wales as well as his brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his Godchildren and dearest life-long friends. A service of remembrance will be held in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Saturday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, donations in Colin's memory made to the Toronto Humane Society or a charity of your choice are most appreciated.
