Passed away peacefully in Toronto on Tuesday, November 12th, in her 95th year. Mary was the beloved wife of James A. 'Jim' McCabe (deceased, 1998). During their 56 years of marriage they lived in Tillsonburg, Toronto, Muskoka and Florida. Mother of Gwyne (Michael) Willmot of Toronto, Jim (Sandi) of London, Ontario, Bob (Carol) of Toronto and Patty (Bill) Garriock of Niagara-on-the Lake. "Nannie" of Lisa (John) Hockin, Chris (Jenn) Willmot, Debbie (Brian) Woo, Jamie (Carolyn) McCabe, Lesley (Rob) Dyer, Robin (Jesse) Cassaday and Katie (Gordie) Cheesbrough. Great-grandmother of Elissa and Alexander Woo, Emily and Sophie Nutting, Christina and Carys Willmot and Charlie Dyer. She also leaves her sister Nora Kerr of Sarasota, Florida, her brother Tracy (Johannah) Lloyd of Beaconsfield, Quebec, and her brother-in-law, W. W. 'Bill' Smallman of Toronto. Predeceased by her sister Dr. Lois Lloyd (Smallman) and brother-in-law The Reverend Dr. Donald Kerr. She was an aunt and great-aunt and a good friend to many.
Mary was a graduate of Moulton Ladies College ("Head Girl"1936) and McMaster University (BA 1940), a world traveler with husband Jim through Rotary International, a competitive and champion golfer (London Hunt, Lambton, Muskoka Lakes and Rosedale) and curler (Tillsonburg and The Granite Club). She was a recipient of "The Big M" at McMaster for golf in her first year, Ladies Captain and Ladies President at Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club and active member of the Women's Golf Association and the Canadian Seniors Women's Golf Association.
Mary was a creative perennial gardener, knitter, needle pointer, bridge player, reader, community volunteer and served as Commissioner for the Canadian Girl Guides Association. She will lovingly be remembered by those who knew her well as a bright and caring person, a great friend and one with much enthusiasm towards life.
In earlier years, she actively participated at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church and more recently at the Lake Joseph Community Church. She cherished her time with family and friends in Muskoka and spent a lifetime of summers there.

A private family service will be held with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
