My condolences to the Lindsay family.
Dr. Lindsay was a great surgeon, he changed my life through a cosmetic procedure that today, 30 years later, still looks as good as when he first did the surgery. May you rest in peace Dr. Lindsay, you will be missed.

I would like to express my condolences to the Lindsay family. WRN was earliest teacher, mentor and colleague at the Wellesley Hospital. He was a leader in our Plastic Surgery community, and someone that I am proud to have had a chance to train and work under his guidance. Dr. Lindsay, it has been an honour. Peter Fowler

My sincere condolences to the Lindsay family on the passing of your patriarch and our teacher. I have nothing but fond memories for the time I spent under his tutelage at the Wellesley Hospital, where Dr. Lindsay was one of my first mentors in Plastic Surgery training in 1986. He was a kind, soft spoken pioneer in our specialty who inspired a generation of trainees. He will be remembered and missed.

I can picture Dr. Lindsay smiling with his strikingly bright and intelligent eyes as he opened the door. He was always welcoming when I was a guest at his home in Toronto or at the family cottage. After offering to take my coat, asking if I would like something to drink, we would sit down. He often would take a seat next to Mrs. Lindsay and then the fun conversations would begin. I know the chair next to Mrs. Lindsay will always hold a place of honour. From my home in Alexandria, Virginia to the Lindsay family members and especially my dear friend Mary (Lary), please accept my condolences in the loss of your father.

Dear Jean, Mary, Donald, Norma, Margie, Janie, and Patti
I was very sad to read of your father's passing. He was an incredible man who always seemed to me to be the quiet strength at the head of the family. As a child, the Lindsay house was always the place to be (who could not love the playhouse, the laundry shoot, and of course no other family had a third floor in those days). I feel so fortunate to have lived so close and knew I could always find a playmate two houses down the road. Our families were so weaved together for me as a child- each of us often vying to get a ride up with the Lindsay to ski at Devil's Glen. I have very clear memories of skiing and your father waiting for us at the bottom of the hill (having got there long before us!). And of course, who can ever forget the wonderful Caribbean sailing trip. Again the image that comes to mind is your father pulling your mother out of the water after not quite getting into the dingy well. That is how I think of your father- steady, always there to put out a hand- I had a few injuries over the years that he was the first responder to. And of course, the Logan Lake and Lake Simcoe adventures -whether in the sailboat or diving off the diving board at your cottage- many laughs and always fun! Those weekends were one of the highlight of my summers as a child.
He was an incredible man and I know this may be a difficult time, may the memories of the happier time help you all through this difficult time. My thoughts and support are with all of you.
Best,
Wendy

Hi Don, Just heard of your loss and want to express sincere condolences from our family to yours. I know how close you were to your dad and I always envied the father and son canoe trips that you managed to take together. Please pass this on to your mom and sisters and we will certainly raise a glass in his memory on our ice fishing trip this winter.

Dr Lindsay was very a kind and generous man and a true “gentleman surgeon”. He was very supportive of me in my early years of training at the Wellesley Hospital. He had a naturally curious mind and he encouraged research and the development of new ideas. He had a wide area of interest in Plastic Surgery and had a practice that reflected that philosophy. He took a genuine interest in his patients and was well liked and respected by those around him. He was a great supporter of activities at the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. He will certainly be missed.

I have known Dr. Lindsay for 40 years. He was my teacher, mentor, role model, and partner at the Wellesley Hospital. He was a modest man of enormous stature. He was an incredible teacher, who treated you like an associate rather than a student. He was the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Wellesley hospital for over 20 years. He laid the foundation for Toronto's first adult burn centre and was deeply committed to the care of over 2,000 patients with major burns. He was a founder of aesthetic plastic surgery in Canada. He held an annual symposium on aesthetic plastic surgery at the University of Toronto for 20 years, which as attended by plastic surgeons from across North America. He was cherished by his patients who referred to him as a "a very kind and nice man, who was always a gentleman". He touched many people and he changed their lives. He made an enormous difference. We are all deeply thankful to him. Our deepest thoughts go out to his family. Dr. Lindsay, may you rest in peace, sir. Walter Peters
