Obituary of Walter Parks
Walter Joseph Parks
1941-2013
After complications due to a heart attack, Wally Parks, aged 72, passed away peacefully on November 1st at Sunnybrook Hospital. A charming raconteur, a lover of wine and his 1953 MG sports car, he quickly earned himself many admirers and nicknames. "The Mad Scientist", or "The Wall", always had a joke, an opinion, or a story to offer. An MBA graduate from the University of Toronto, he was a stock trader, a management consultant, a professor of business, and an accountant at different times in his life. For all of his accomplishments, his greatest one was his family. He was an inexhaustible caregiver to his wife, Elizabeth; and a skilled business advisor to his son, Adrian. He will be greatly missed by his wife and son, as well as his sister Frances, and his cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Ted, and his parents Stanley and Bernadette. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnybrook Hospital: https://donate.sunnybrook.ca. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4th. A funeral Mass will be held in ST. ANSELM'S CHURCH, 1 MacNaughton Road on Tuesday, November 5th at 10:30 a.m. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
