Obituary of Elizabeth Light

LIGHT, Elizabeth, (Beth) Jean Passed away peacefully in the company of family on November 1, 2013 at the age of 61 at Toronto East General Hospital. Predeceased by her loving father Walter Light, she is survived by her mother Margaret; her sister Janice; brother-in-law David; sons John, David and Josh; daughters-in law Linh, Ellen and Adrienne; grandchildren Ella and Erin; niece and nephews Christopher, Kathryn and Matthew; and Bailey her dog. Recognized as one of the foremost experts on women's history in Canada, Beth Light and her colleagues were awarded the Women of Distinction Award for their research and writing. Beth's loving and generosity went well beyond her immediate family, from her children's friends to her tireless work with her sponsees. Infinite thanks and gratitude go to the dedicated and caring staff of Toronto East General ICU. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4th. A memorial service will take place in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5th followed by a reception.
