Obituary of Joan Mergler

MERGLER, Joan (nee Heron)September 18, 1922 to October 14, 2013.Passed away in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Leo, who predeceased her thirty-five years ago. Much loved mother of Paul (Karen) and Julia (Robert). Cherished grandmother of Rose, Nigel and Tristan. Alzheimers tried to rob her of all that was Joan but could not quell that feisty Irish spirit. She was the head of the physiotherapy department at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, where she helped to put the broken soldiers back together. She married one and those two were something to see. We will miss her with an ache and a smile. Thanks for the kindness and care from everyone at the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor. Private family funeral will take place.
