Obituary of John Brown
BROWN, John William (Jack), QC
Passed away peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on Thursday, September 12, 2013, age 83. Beloved and loving husband of Lois for 60 years. Devoted father to Susan and Rosemary and her husband Damien McIsaac. Much loved and proud grampa of Emily and Reilly McIsaac. Predeceased by beloved son Alexander, parents Bill and Jean, brother Norman and sisters Ella Moran and Edna McDonald. He will be remembered as a caring brother and brother-in-law and a loved uncle of his nieces and nephews and their families. He had fond memories of his youth in Brantford, university days at McMaster and service in the naval reserve. After working variously as a loom operator, Coca Cola route driver, radio announcer and news editor he attended Osgoode Hall Law School and went on to enjoy a distinguished legal career at Blake, Cassels & Graydon in Toronto. He treasured his friends and loved fly fishing, family gatherings, summers at the cottage on Wood Lake and upon retirement winters in Sanibel. The family would like to thank his caregivers who provided compassionate comfort during his final months. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16. "When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
Then can I drown an eye,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night."
