Obituary of Ruth Sprott

Ruth Jacqueline Sprott (nee Douglas) Passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Mark F. Sprott and siblings Jack Douglas and Enid Amos. Loving mother of Douglas (Jeanne), Eric (Vizma) and daughter Nancy. Dear grandmother of Spencer (Heather), Mark (Robyn), Benjamin, Juliana (Greg), Larisa, Jennifer (Jamie) and Lizzie (Rushad). Great-grandmother to Gordon, Pasha, June, Grayson, Oscar, Hudson, Delilah and Vivienne. Many thanks to Jessica Bitoy for her dedicated support work. Born into the fourth Douglas generation in Toronto, Ruth and Mark moved to Ottawa in 1939 and stayed to raise their family in the new suburb of Alta Vista. In the seventies, they moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake to spend the early part of Dad's well earned retirement. In the nineties, they moved back to their hometown of Toronto where two of their children had settled. As usual, Ruth spent this summer enjoying cottage life with her family at her beloved Golden Lake. Mother, you will be missed. A private family service has taken place in Toronto.
