Obituary of Yvonne Hope

HOPE, Marcella (Yvonne) — A very proud Canadian. Marcella was born in Toronto on September 23, 1927. She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Cedolph Hope, two sons and a daughter and their partners: George (Ingrid), Jay (Heather), Cathy (Brian), as well as grandchildren Kaiden and Siraya. Marcella also leaves behind nieces and nephews and a great number of very dear friends. Marcella had a quick wit and a razor sharp intellect. These qualities no doubt aided her rise from secretary in 1947, retiring as she did, as Assistant Head of Guidance at Maplewood High School in 1993. Marcella acquired both her driver's licence and a university education much later in life. Our mother was a modern woman who was driven to succeed and she instilled similar qualities in her children. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 26th at Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Ave., Toronto. The funeral is on Saturday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at St. David's Presbyterian Church, 1300 Danforth Road, Scarborough. Reception following at the church.
