ALLAN, Margaret Rebecca (nee House) In Toronto on Thursday, July 18, 2013, Margaret Allan passed away in her 94th year. Margaret was born April 21, 1920 in Brantford, the eldest child and only daughter of the late Eleanor (Nellie Jane) Costain and Charles Frederick House. She had two younger brothers, Raymond Charles and Robert Glenn House. She is survived by her husband, Ronald S. Allan of Toronto, to whom she was married for 53 years. Also surviving are nieces Kaye Haynes, Barbara Brockway, Lynn Allan and nephew Bruce Allan, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. As a secondary school history teacher, Margaret taught in Port Colborne and later in Toronto. The family wishes to thank the staff of Donway Place Retirement Home as well as Margaret's special caregivers Tina, Ellen and Norma, who looked after her so faithfully. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 12:00 noon on Monday, July 29 for a service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. A reception in the Rosedale Room will follow.
