Obituary of Valerie Fowlston
FOWLSTON, Valerie Jane
Valerie lived most of her life in the Alderwood area of Toronto. She attended Sir Adam Beck Public School, Franklin Horner Secondary School and Alderwood Colligiate. At Alderwood, she was social convener and involved in many activities. Upon graduation she started her career in Nursing taking her training in The Civic Hospital in Ottawa in 1965, completing her RN in 1968. She met Ken Fowlston on September 9th, 1977 they married on April 12th, 1980. Valerie also worked at Beeton Manor from 1984 to 1989 when residing in the Tottenham, Ontario area. She retired from nursing early afterwards to pursue hobbies of sewing, painting and caring for her family. After Tottenham, she moved our home to Paudash Lake at the "Ratherbe" to enjoy the nature and gardening that she loved so dearly. Each of us has received a wonderful gift on living and life from her, which we will carry with us during our journey of life. I have lost my best friend. Valerie died peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Dear mother of John, Carmen, Kathryn and Janice. Loving grandmother of Thomas, Jake, Julia, Matthew, Brianna, Jessica and Alexander. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19. Service in the chapel on Saturday, July 20 at 3:00 p.m. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A reception will be held in the funeral home following the interment.
