Obituary of Robert Gray
Robert Gray
Born December 28, 1934, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He will be greatly missed by Janet, his best friend and wife of 27 years, and by his stepson Scott Sutherland (Suzanne). He will also be missed by eight nephews and nieces. Bob was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend to all. He was a quiet person, a gentle gentleman. He believed that the purpose of life was to enjoy it. Bob was passionate about geology and mining. He was employed as an exploration geologist by Asarco for 38 years, including five years based in Perth, Australia. After retiring from Asarco, he continued to consult, working in Australia, Peru, Eritrea and French Guiana. In retirement, Bob and Janet enjoyed the freedom to travel around the world, and did so many times. They were always off on another exciting adventure. His family will remember him (in part) for his creation of "Wine Time", a time in which Janet and Bob would talk about the day's events over a lovely glass of wine. By his request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation has already taken place. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
