Sorry to be so late but we only found out about Tom's passing after we returned from another overseas trip. We have great memories of Tom as a dedicated family physician, a keen fellow traveller, and a good friend, and offer our sincere condolences to all his family members. Thinking of each of you at this sad time, I have so many happy memories of your father. He was truly a wonderful and kind man, to work for and with for so many years, 23 to be exact! Wish I could be with you but June 7 is my Nursing Reunion at BGH, 55 years ! I was so pleased to visit with him at BGH a couple of years ago and catch up on all the family news. My condolences to the Kidd family on the passing of Dr. Tom Kidd. Growing up and living in Brantford for the first 22yrs of my life, I remember with great fondness this wonderful, gentle man whether it was downstairs on Maple or upstairs on Lorne Cres. He was one of a rare breed of family doctors who made house calls (many to our home when I was young). My parents and brothers remained with him until he retired in 2002. In fact one of the last (if not the last) patients he saw was my father who had just 2 months earlier been diagnosed with inoperable cancer. Dr. Kidd came to the house to introduce the new doctor taking over his practice. I know it meant the world to our family that he went to such lengths, but that was Dr. Kidd. Rest well, good and faithful servant.

My sincere condolences to your family for the loss of such a great man/father. Dr. Kidd was our family Physician for many years until he retired. There are many memories of visiting his office on Maple Ave and Lorne Street. He was such a kind, gentile, caring man despite his rugged 6' something stature! Your father took a genuine interest in each and every one of us (there were 8) guiding us through some difficult times with his knowledge and compassion. He saved my mother from near death at one point. Dr Thomas Kidd is the true definition of what it is to be a 'family Doctor'. He will be dearly missed.
