YOUNG, Frank A.
On Monday, May 6, 2013, peacefully at home in Toronto, Frank concluded his earthly visit and proceeded to the promised realm, ready for further service and adventure. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Dorothy (2003). He is survived by his son Stephen (Jane) Young; daughter Victoria (Carl) Malanka; granddaughters Stephanie and Alison Young; grandsons Craig and Stephen Malanka; great-grandchildren Nathan and Kallen; and goddaughter Elizabeth (Sherk) Everett. He was the founder and, for many years, president of Association Management Services, and in 1961 the first Canadian to be granted the CAE designation in professional association management. He subsequently served on many committees, on the board and as president of the Canadian Society of Association Executives. During his career he worked and consulted in some two dozen industries, including manufactured housing, R.V. manufacture, fine paper distribution, steel distribution, roofing manufacture, motion picture production, brush manufacture, fibreboard manufacture, architectural metal and industrial design. Born in East York (WWII RCASC 1942-1946), he contributed a lifetime of service to the East York Collegiate alumni and student body. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9. Funeral service will be held in ROSEDALE UNITED CHURCH, 159 Roxborough Drive, on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Private interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
