Obituary of Ralph Scane

SCANE, Ralph Edward, Q.C. Peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the age of 81. Ralph was the loving husband for over 52 years, of the late Joyce Scane (nee Ribchester) and the beloved father of Leslie (Neil Mitchell), Valerie (Michael Challis) and Anthony (Jill Vienneau). He was a caring grandfather of Sean and Ryan Mitchell, Nicholas and Timothy Challis, and Jackson Scane. Ralph was a much loved and respected Professor of Law at the University of Toronto for over 30 years. He was a true teacher, with a strong passion for his subject and a profound care for his students. Students who had Ralph as a professor join with his family in counting him among those they will never forget. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
