As a young girl growing up with Carol we had a lot of fun together and I recall going up to her cottage to swim in the lake and spend time with her family. My fondest memory of Mrs. De Val was spending time with her. She would come into the folding trailer set up outside of the cottage that Carol and I made into our own play area and she would sit with us and chat about things. She always brought something tasty from the kitchen for us to munch on and would root us on when we did things that girls enjoyed doing. One summer Carol and I worked on dance routines during our KC and the Sunshine Band days. I have no idea how Mrs. De Val put up with hearing that record over and over and over again and I'll bet it sounded even better echoing over the water again and again. Carol and I spent that time working on synchronized dances and Mrs. De Val would stop whatever she was doing at our coaxing for her to come out and join us time and time again; we were forever thankful for her audience. She happily sat through hours of gangly girls' untrained dance routines to our delight. It was her warm smile and gentle voice that I will miss the most.

To Carol and her family, I was so saddend to hear that Lois had passed away. She was such a sweet lady and I enjoyed getting to know her when she came in to Briarcrest School to help out in Carol's classroom. My sincere condolences to all of you at this sad time.

Dearest Ron, Carol and Dorothy, It is with much sadness to learn of Lois' passing. She was such a gentle, kind, loving woman who touched the hearts of so many lives. We were all blessed to have had the opportunity to share so many special moments with her. She was an angel with shoes while on earth, now she is an angel with wings that will be in our hearts forever. I found this poem that helps sum up my thoughts, I hope you feel it is appropriate too. "Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal." Lois will be truly missed. We loved her so much. May you always treasure and cherish her life. She will never be forgotten. Love always, Sheila, Ray, Ian and Scott
