Obituary of George Hudson
HUDSON, George Robert
Quietly in Toronto at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Veteran's Wing on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Beth (nee Pringle). Much loved father of Ed (Debbie Mossa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Nan (Elizabeth Macdonald) of Kingston and Bob (Debbie nee Burrows) of North Bay. Proud grandfather of Julie (Joel), Scott (Karen), Andrea (Mark), Laura, David, and Cameron and great-grandfather of Jada, Rylan, Dylan, Elliot, and Leona. Dear uncle of Harry (Belleville) and Don (Picton), and life-long friend of John Stephenson. Predeceased by his brothers Harry and Edgar.
Born and raised in Toronto, George started his career at the T. Eaton Company before enlisting and spending the war at Camp Borden and overseas in England. Upon his return, he rejoined Eaton's for a 30+ year career where he met his beloved Beth. They raised their family in Toronto, while enjoying skiing, traveling, and cottaging at Chandos Lake. He was active at Manor Road United Church, in the Kiwanis Club, volunteered at the Hugh McMillan Center, Lyndhurst Lodge and many sports associations, and liked to hunt and fish with his buddies. Dad was loving and generous to his family and many friends, proud of his children and grandchildren, and unerringly supported all that they did.
Heartfelt thanks to past neighbours, the staff of Thorne Mill on Steeles and Sunnybrook Hospital L wing, and Suzanne and Philip Parsons.
