My family and I have only just learned of Dr. Fraser's passing, but we wanted to belatedly send our condolences. We have been taking our pets to Dr. Fraser for seventeen years, and during that time, we have had many opportunities to experience Dr. Fraser's extraordinary kindness and caring. He was a fantastic vet, and clearly a wonderful man. We will miss our visits with him greatly.

I was so very sad to hear of Dr. Fraser's passing. Dr. Fraser has cared for each of my cats since he began his practice on Bloor Street. He was a kind, caring and compassionate man. I very much looked forward to chatting with him as we shared a love of cats. It was so easy to see how much he loved animals. He was a very special person and will be missed. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I began my knowledge of Dr. Fraser when he was an Associate of Dr. MacDonald. Both vets were wonderful with animals and that is the reason I was a client of their Veterinary Hospital. I felt a loss when Dr. MacDonald retired but I was comforted that Dr. Fraser was taking charge. Things were looking up, Dr. Fraser now owned the practice and soon would acquire the building. It seemed that Dr. Fraser would be around forever. Dr. Fraser had a great respect for his clients and therefore I could never refer to him as John, it always had to be Dr. Fraser. Dr. Fraser always praised pets when it was time to move on, he thanked them for bringing joy and being faithful to their owner and hoped they would find peace and that their pain would end. My father has passed on and I know he had the same respect for you as I do and I know or at least believe that he would not miss the chance to say thank you for the care Sparky received and if Sparky is by my father's side, I hope his dominance aggression trait is no longer around. It is with the greatest appreciation that I have met John and send my regrets for the loss the family is feeling. I just hope that you always remember the man, father and husband.

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Fraser's passing. He was a wonderful man and beloved vet and we were so lucky to have found him. My dog, Benji and Dr. Fraser always had these unique conversations over the past 12 years! We will miss him greatly and just want to express my deepest sympathy to his family.

We were shocked to hear of John's passing. The years we spent togther in Leaside, hockey coaching and socializing, and including our many times together in Port Elgin/Southanmpton, will be cherished forever. John was a good man and an amazing mentor to me early in my career. I don't think I could have made it through the first few years as a new veterinarian without his guidance. We kept in contact off and on since I left Toronto and I would think of him often, especially now that I need to mentor new grads. His dry humour always made me lighten up and when I look back at those earlier years of my career, I will always smile and think of him. Again, he was a good man, a good veterinarian, but most of all, a good friend.

Dr. John Fraser or to me “Uncle Cookie,” was always someone I could look up too. I will never forget my youth spent at the cottage where my Uncle Cookie’s quick wit and competitive sprit never ceased to drive his sibling’s nuts, but provided hours of entertainment for a nephew looking on in amusement. John was a classmate and a friend. He and Carol would travel to our Halifax veterinary conference in April and it was there that John seemed to be in his element. Because he was so dedicated to his clients and patients it was not an easy task getting him away from his practice. It seemed that it was one time yearly when he could relax, learn and socialize in a stress free environment. He was a dedicated professional and I know he will be missed by so many including all his friends from OVC "76". My condolences to Carol and the family.

To me he was Dr. Fraser. It was only yesterday that I found out, after having had him as my vet for over 23 years, his first name. We shared the same birthday and would chat about how we were twins! (just for the record he WAS three years older!)I would bring him single malt scotch on his birthday and to the best of my knowledge he never actually drank it although he threatened to if he ever got desperate! He took care of my cats. He took care of me. I last saw him in January when he told me he was ill and we shared a conversation and a good-bye hug and one more laugh. He was one of the most compassionate, caring people I have ever met and will forever be remembered. He was truly loved and valued. I shall miss seeing him on his walks in the neighbourhood on his lunch-times and I shall miss his sense of humour, integrity and caring. How lucky I was to have known him.
