Obituary of Rosalind McLeod

McLEOD, Rosalind (nee Biggerstaff) At St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto on Monday, March 4, 2013 in her 94th year. Loving wife for more than 65 years to the late Professor Alex N. McLeod. Mother of Norman (Elaine), Bruce (Marian), Keith, and Ronald (Yvonne). Loving Grandmother of ten; great-grandmother of five. She will be greatly missed by her extended family across Canada and the United States. Born to a Presbyterian minister's family in New Jersey, she met her economist husband at Queen's University, and supported him on travels around the world, to Ottawa, Washington, Saudi Arabia, Trinidad, and Botswana, to name just a few. She was very involved in church life and traveled on her own as a founding member of the Division of World Outreach of the United Church of Canada, visiting Nicaragua, Korea, Vietnam and the far east. In 1986, she was a candidate for Moderator of the United Church of Canada, the first candidate that was not an ordained minister. A Memorial Service will be held at the RICHMOND HILL UNITED CHURCH, 10201 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations to your favourite charity would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
