I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your loving Lena. I recognized her picture before even seeing the name. My sisters Deeci, Reesa and I have very fond memories of sitting on the floor or cushion seats and watching Lena and Johnny turning my mother Jackie into a movie star, either at the salon on Yonge Street, or later their home on Russell Hill. I still remember Lena including us one Christmas holiday in putting up the tree at their home, what fun we had. She was always busy on the sewing machine, and we loved the creations she made. My mother still has many of them and had planned on getting together with Lena and Johnny, especially when we saw that Johnny was being honoured years ago at the ROM.
It is too bad we didn't.
We are all sorry to hear of your loss, but know that she will never be forgotten.

Dear John and Family, I was sorry to hear of Lena's passing. Living above the store on Yonge Street, I have many memories of her working hard long hours and I even babysat for her when she was trying to meet deadlines. She was always smiling and I will always remember that smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to John and all of their beautiful children. In 1968, I had the very good fortune of meeting the "Artibello's" when they created my wedding dress and Bridesmaids. The impression of Lena was everlasting. She was a real jewel and her beauty that came from within outshone all the glitter and jewels that were in the Shoppe. Such a warm lady, a caring mother, and a devoted wife. She gave what every new bride should know by her presence - what love really is and what a good mother should be. Lena touched me deeply and she is in my wedding video at the Church - where do you get such devotion today!. Our prayers that she rest in peace and that the Lord welcomes her home to a wonderful banquet in Heaven. You were blessed to have her and her memory will always be in my heart and on my lips to my children.
