My deepest sympathy for your loss Suzanne. You are in my thoughts and prayers. "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4 May His Soul Rest in Perfect Peace.

Am I right in thinking that Carlton lived in Brighton, Ontario, during his early years and that his father was high school principal there? If so, we were very close friends for a number of years, in and out of each others houses and playing constantly together. Then the family suddenly moved away - and it was the last time I saw Carlton. As I have a cottage near there I pass by their house occasionally and my mind goes back to those days and our time together. He perhaps returned to Brighton over the years, but I have been many years abroad.
I would very much liked to have seen him again. He was a great chum then and, by all accounts, was a great father and friend later on.

So sorry to hear about Coach Chisholm's passing. I was a student at YMCI in the late 70's, and had the good fortune to have been coached by him for all four years of my basketball "career" at York Mills. He was always respectful, demanding (in a good way), and had a knack for bringing out the best in his charges, both on the court, and more importantly, off it. He was an important influence in my life. I wish I had known he was a resident of Belmont house, since I visited there often until my grandmother's passing last year. I would have liked to have had the chance to look Coach up and spend a few minutes with him if I'd only known.

I am so saddened at the news of Carl's passing. Carl was a mentor to me, in his own quiet way. He was a model teacher and and an inspiration to those he coached and taught at York Mills C.I. I remember helping his daughter (Kara) with some of her majorette moves in the early days and, when I once visited him at his house I was blown away when I saw the number of trophies and awards she had won. Carl gave so much of his talent and time to York Mills students but he still spent a lot of quality with his daughter who he was so proud of. When I think of my formative teaching years at York Mills, Carl Chisholm always comes to mind. He was a quiet leader who lead by example and I am forever grateful. I know that so many more will be saddened by his passing. Dave Barrett

Dad, I miss not being able to talk to you, hug you or hold your hand. I am forever grateful for the values, integrity, discipline & strength you instilled in me. I am who I am today because of you - my abiity to coach people to success I owe all to you - I had the best role model my dad - loved watching you in action on the football field or the basketball court growing up. I will treasure the memories forever. You were in a good place here but I know you are in a great place now with Mom. Love Suz
