You will be missed Uncle John. Every time I pass by the painting you gave me many years back, I will smile in remembrance.

We are relatively new neighbours, but we'll miss Mr. Lloyd! He kindly entertained me to a smoked salmon feast this summer and I saw lots of evidence of the twinkle in his eye--despite the Old Grouch sign--referred to in another message. What an interesting man: I wish we had had longer to get to know him.

My last memory of John is visiting him during the art tour last fall when his house was packed with his paintings from wall to ceiling. It was wonderful seeing him in his element. I would never have guessed that this vital man was in his 89th year. That's how I'd like to remember him.

Dear David, Kathie, and Robin, I am so deeply saddened to hear the news of Uncle John’s passing. The times our families spent together at Wildwood are some of my happiest childhood memories. And your Dad is such a big part of those memories – always teasing, with a mischievous look in his eye, like he was up to something sneaky and a little bit wrong! To an impressionable kid, he was a joy to behold – an original, a true character, and someone who lived by his own rules. Not to mention, such a loving husband to Auntie Mary and a great friend to Mom & Dad. I will hold you all in my thoughts tomorrow and please know that Uncle John was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Dear David, Eve, Kathie, Robin, Peter, Tarah and Talya, We are very saddened by John's passing. He was such a vivid personality, with a wonderful zest for life. We admired his optimism and stoicism in the face of the challenges he had to endure, and we know he found great solace in his family and friends. I extend my sincerest condolences to you all. We will miss him.
