Obituary of Annie Cooper
COOPER, Annie Kemp
Suddenly, at home on January 13th in her 90th year. Anne was the beloved sister of Mac Cooper and May Thomson and the late Helen Mair. She is survived by many nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews in her native Scotland.
Anne emigrated to Toronto on a bold adventure in 1948. Her warm reception by the late Cooper and Andrena Campbell spawned a lasting and irreplaceable bond with the Campbell children Lexie and Robin, their children Holly Dyment (Doug Gibson), Philip Dyment (Lorraine Housego), and Campbell Dyment and wife Barbara. All of her "wee bairns" (Andrew Lauder, Kirsty Dyment, Brandon Dyment, Kylie Dyment, Cooper Dyment, Gabrielle Dyment, Jack Dyment, Colin Gibson and Meredith Gibson) were shaped by Anne's loving presence and strong sensibilities. Anne will be terribly missed by her good friend Allan Lauder and by all the generations who knew and loved her.
Anne made her career with Canada Life Insurance and treasured her friendships with her cohort there and with her many dear friends in life.
A funeral service for Anne will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17th at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
