To the Family, Your father and grandfather made a significant mark in the Governor General Horse Guards, through his love for the regiment, his dedication to the Cavalry Squadron, his presence among the soldiers at Memorial Dinners, and his work in leadership and stewardship of the GGHG. He will be missed by the men and women of the GG's at all ranks. We have been blessed by him and he remains an inspiration to all of us. I wish to express my deep condolences to the whole family. Padre Ellie, Captain and Regimental Padre, GGHG

Patrick, John, Brian and Bruce, My wife Pauline and I were saddened to hear about Mac's passing, and we both wish you our sincerest condolences for your loss. I have very fond memories of you and your father and mother, and Mac in particular, provided inspiration and support to me, oh so long ago, when I decided to join the military, a career which I still enjoy 38 years later! Your mother and father were such great friends of my mother Jane, and supported her closely through her life. If she were hear today, she would echo my sentiments tenfold. I am sure your sadness in the coming days will be overtaken by smiles at the happy thoughts you have of the great times with your Dad. I am not able to make it to Toronto in person, but please accept my warmest regards and sincerest condolences. Your old friend and neighbour, Greg Burton Ottawa
