Lena Kathleen Brazier (nee Maxted, formerly Williamson)
1918 - 2012
Lea passed away Saturday evening, December 22, 2012 at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late James Charles Brazier (2000). Lena was born on September 19, 1918 in London, England to parents William John and Lena Williamson who died when she was just 6 years of age. She left her younger sister, Grace Violet , and baby brother, William John (both deceased), and at the age of 10, was brought to Toronto to be adopted by her Uncle George Maxted and wife Mary (both deceased). She met husband Jim at Orr Lake and they married in 1939, enjoying 61 years together. Many happy summers were spent at the cottage on Six Mile Lake, many winters in Florida, and later enjoying retirement in Jordan Station, Ontario. Lea was a beautiful lady throughout her 94 years, thoughtful and generous, loved and admired by the people in her life, and totally devoted to family. Determined was she, that she remain living independently in her home with her much loved little dog and kitty cats. She will be sadly missed by her loving son Jimmy, whom she loved and adored unequivocally, and partner John McCaughey. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 27.
