May today remind us all how lucky we are to have had Graham as a part of our life. His outlook on life was unique; it was honest yet somehow enlightening. Through the simplicities he saw meaning. I was fortunate to see this through art with him. Today I personally plan to take some time to look at art and imagine what he would of thought of it. He always made time in his hectic schedule to do it and so shall I. To his family, thank you for including me as part of this. My thoughts are always with you.

When I first Graham, I had just opened up a satellite gallery in Toronto. This tall man walked in and immediately started inquirying about the exhibit I had on display. He had never heard of the artist but was drawn to her works. It was a 25 year collection I was presenting, the artist happend to be from the Eastern Townships of Quebec. He wanted to know "why", why I had selected her and what I thought about the works. Almost 2 hours later, he left and I had one of the best conversations about art that I had ever had. I could tell that he was a busy man, but not to busy to share. We had an immediate connection to art. I exhibited in that space for a series of 3 months. Our friendship surounded art, one of Graham's passions. He would quickly stop in the gallery every second day or so to say hi, as it was around the corner from his work. That was always the highlight of my day, we would discuss a new piece or an old one, or he would tell me about a new one he had in storage. He may even simply question my choice in framing (which he never liked). :) Through discussing art with him I got to know how much he loved his children, his grandchildren and his wife. He would look at pieces and tell me why they reminded him of each member of his family. He wanted to collect them for them.
He was one of those friends that you would have not talked to in 6 months, but the minute we started talking we automatically transitioned to art. I no longer work in that field, however, when I see art and wonder "what would Graham think?" and know that if I asked it would turn into a wonderful conversation. One that I would remember. I miss Graham and wish that life hadn't gotten so busy. I now have my own son, and based on Graham's recommendation buy him art every year and save it for him.

So sad to hear the passing of Graham. Had the honour of working with Graham when I was heamaster of Rosseau Lake College. First met Graham when he came for an interview with hs son Derek at RLC many years ago. I taught Derek and got to know Graham well. We would cross paths when I served as headmaster from 93-99. Graham had a real love for RLC and gave countless hours on the board. He had a great sense of humour, and was always available to listen to me. I owe him a great deal.In meetings he could always cut to the chase and get to the problem. He enjoyed young people ans still have a photograph of me and him in my den when we were watching the board senior student floor hockey game at RLC. He will be missed.

I don’t think I can describe the impact that you had on my life Pops. My Daily Doses of Dad and the conversations we had about everything and nothing meant the world to me. I don’t think many people had a relationship like ours G, it kept getting stronger and stronger. I can easily say I have lost a best friend who can never be replaced, a father with a heart bigger than the world and a Dad, a Dad that will truly be missed forever. Always In Memory. Love ya Bud
