Obituary of John Wallace

John (Jack) Keith Wallace, B.Eng., P.Eng., M.B.A. May, 29 1940 - December 9, 2011 It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Jack, true light of her life and husband of Anne. Wonderful guiding father to William Paul (Sheila), Elizbeth Anne (John), John-Scott (Anne-Marie), and David Keith. He has seven wonderful grandchildren Kayla, Nathan, Alayna, Sarah and Claire Wallace and Mason and Quinn Paterson. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments of his children and marvelled how quick and beautiful/handsome his grandchildren were. Jack is also survived by a loving brother, Laurence Ross (Terry) and niece Kirsten Wallace. He is predeceased by his father Keith Bell, mother Muriel and daughter Heather Anne Wallace. Jack graduated from McGill University in Electrical Engineering in 1962 earned his Masters In Business Administration from York University, worked at Sangamo, Unitel and Amdahl, before operating his own business until retirement. It could be said "challenge" was his second name; he never understood how anyone could be bored. If he was not renovating the house, helping a neighbour renovate theirs or otherwise finding reason to work with his hands, he indulged his creative passion for photography and wood turning. And between all of this, he figured out Anne's quilting machine! Loving to learn, and share his experiences, Jack also volunteered as President of the Woodturners Guild of Ontario (WGO) and the Scarborough Camera Club. He loved to travel to all parts of the world. When asked about his preference for a potential trip he always said "I will go anywhere with you, Anne". He has gone on this trip with God. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11.
