Surrounded by her loving family, died peacefully at home. Adored wife of the late Dr. H. Patrick Higgins. Their love story lasted 58 years and continues on.
Cherished mother of Maureen (Gordon Hill), Cathy (Simon Lewis), Peter (Ann Marie Canning),
Julie (Douglas Harvey), Betsy (William P. Jones, Jr.), Brian (Eileen O'Sullivan), Shelagh (Richard Kellam), Norah (Maris Burnham), and Kevin (Andrea Hunt). Loving Nana of Brian (Claudia), Patrick (Erin), Kathleen (John), Eileen (David), Shelagh and Maureen Hill; Ben, Evan and Emma Lewis; Peter (Amy), Katie (Jeremy), Conner and Bridget Higgins; John, Madeleine, Olivia, and James Harvey; William, Julia, Catherine and Elizabeth Jones; Julia, James, Clare and Liam Higgins; Darragh, Pierce, Kieran and Brendan Kellam; Nuala and
Seamus Burnham; Jack, Charlie and Hunter "HP" Higgins. Devoted great-grandmother of Sophia and Maria Hill; Joshua and Nathan Hill; Finn and Rhys Higgins and Meara Armstrong. Agnes was born in Sudbury, daughter of the late Julia McLaughlin and James Higgins. Devoted sister of the late Catherine Higgins, Elizabeth Dillon, Mary Corson and Cecelia Farrell. Survived by her loving brother-in-law, Father Brian P. Higgins, C.S.B. and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Proud graduate of St. Michael's College, University of Toronto, Class of 4T8 and OCE, Class of 4T9. Dedicated teacher at Forest Hill Collegiate. Our mother devoted her life to her beloved husband, "Hub", and to us, her nine children. Her strength of spirit lives on in all who loved her.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. H. Prewal and Dr. R. Goldman, Dr. H. Leong Poi and Dr. P. Kopplin, Marcella Diaz R.N. and to her devoted caregivers, Joy, Eni, Moki, Lisa and Jeraldine.
The family will receive friends at Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto on Friday, November 23 at 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass at St. Basil's Church, 50 St. Joseph Street, Toronto, on Saturday, November 24 at 11a.m.
