Obituary of Joanne Arfo

A mighty force has finally found peace. After a long battle requiring unimaginable strength, our dearest Joanne passed into the loving arms of her parents on Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was fierce and loving. A mentor and friend to so many. Joanne stood tall and proud for what she believed in, carried herself with power and grace and knew how to love life. She instilled qualities of passion, determination and integrity in all who knew her. How fortunate we were to have this warrior in our lives. She remains radiant in our hearts. Wife to John, who tirelessly upheld his vows with love every day of her long fight. Momma bear to daughters Sarah and Julia (Brian) who will forever be under her protective wings. Big sister to Frank, Kathy (Tom) and Anthony (Kim) who will miss her exuberance immensely. Aunty Jo to Victoria and Jessica. Stepmom to Andrew, Catherine and Stuart, step grandmother to Cameron. Aunt, cousin, beloved friend, Ya Ya, confidant, and coach to many. Family and friends are immensely grateful to the caring staff at Toronto General Hospital.
