Obituary of Elizabeth Addy
Elizabeth Addy
The family announces with deep sadness that Elizabeth ("Momo") passed away on Tuesday, September 13th, 2011. Her strong commitment, concern and love for her family will be sorely missed by her daughter Judith Anne Humphreys, son-in-law Robin, grandchildren Cameron Humphreys and Jane Humphreys-Weir, and grandchildren-in-law Maria Michlits and Michael Weir, and her great-grandchildren Lucas and Mark Humphreys, and Katherine, Lilly and Penny Weir.
During her long life Elizabeth gathered a wide circle of friends with her loveable larger than life personality and, many talents. In her work as an interior designer she enhanced numerous churches, homes and offices due to her impeccable sense of taste, colour and design. She immersed herself in volunteer activity, becoming Board Chair of Bloorview Children's Hospital. Subsequently, acting as Chair of Bellwoods Park House, she led a major capital campaign. Bellwoods wrote "Elizabeth's first concern was the comfort of the residents and that they live in a cheerfully decorated home and comfortable atmosphere."
The family wishes to thank all of the staff of Claremont Retirement Residence for their superb and dignified care, unfailing good humor and willingness to go the extra mile.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life will take place at THE YORK CLUB, 135 St. George Street, Toronto on Wednesday October 5th at 4:00 p.m. Although "Momo" loved flowers, she hoped that memorial donations would be made to Bloorview Children's Hospital, 150 Kilgour Road, Toronto M4G 1R8 (416-425-6220), or a charity of personal interest. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
