Obituary of Kathrine Burry

Andrea Burry (nee Morin) Died at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Monday, September 19, 2011, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, in her 73rd year. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Sheedy and Joseph Starr Morin. Andrea was born in Toronto on December 17, 1938. She attended Loretto Abbey and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Social Work. Andrea had the wonderful opportunity and cultural experience of living in the United States, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Japan before returning to Toronto. Andrea was an avid reader, a dog lover "Toby", a political junkie and a formidable bridge player. She always had time for those less fortunate than herself through her generous work as a community volunteer. Andrea is survived by her three loving children, Mark, Courtney, (Tim Morey), Lindsay (John Lorimer), her five cherished grandchildren, Sydney and Joshua Morey, Owen, Drew and Finlay Lorimer, second mother to Alastair and Shiona McCully. She is also survived by her siblings, Starr (Len Rambusch), John (Patricia) Chris (Lorraine), Mary-Jo (John Sedley) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eldest brother Don (Belinda). Special thanks to Sally Scott and Anne Purdy for their loyalty and close friendship over the years. Also thanks to her many bridge pals, especially Gladys Dymond, her long time partner. Recognition would like to be extended to Dr. Margaret Bennett, to the excellent nursing staff in Palliative Care and to her sister-in-law, Patricia Morin for her dedicated care and support. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. on Friday, September 23.
