Working at her Irene Knitwear clothing store that became Rodier at the Colonnade and the TD Centre 6 days a week then doing her books at home Sundays while making the family Wiener Schnitzel, fishing trips with Joe to Temagami, boating on Lake Ontario, large family dinners at Christmas, vacationing with Joe and her sister Lisl on cruises in Europe, caring for Lisl until Trudie was past 90, slinging her bag over her shoulder and jumping on the streetcar to do errands and visit her friends, Trudie's long loving marriage to Joe, living on Bathurst Street with their border Arnold Fletcher, living at the Colonnade and then in her apartment on St. Clair with all the windows... Trudie, not having children of her own, was my second Mother since I was born. 100 was far too early to take her away from us. ... Little Peter

I met Trudie very soon after The Woodhaven opened as she was one of the first patients to arrive. She became my friend and helper in the Cafe on Monday afternoons. She also became my history teacher as she told me all about her experiences during the second World War. She was always happy and interesting and made my day each Monday as she was so welcoming and charming. She is the only person I have ever known to live to be one hundred years old and still look like she was sixty-five without a wrinkle in her beautiful face. Despite having deteriorating vision and being in a wheelchair she never asked for sympathy and greeted me each Monday with a amile. My Mondays will never be so enjoyable without you, my dear friend.

IN MEMORY OF TRUDIE: JACKIE & PETER & FAMILY, I am so sorry to here of Trudie's passing. Trudie was one of my beloved Resident's at the Woodhaven LTC. I have many fond memories of Trudie and the care that I was able provide her. I will always remember her asking me if I was going to be her Nurse and when I said yes her "eyes lit up" and she had a big smile on her face. She always said how happy she was when she knew that I was the Evening Nurse.Trudie was always so appreciated of the care that I gave to her. I will surely miss her. Trudie Rest In Peace, Much Love Jean Knuth RPN.
