Dear Ian, Roger and Heather, While living at #65 Wynford Heights Crescent from 1972 until 1984, a group of women there began to exercise regularly together. We really enjoyed each other, had joke time etc. and called ourselves "The Wynford Beauties". It was through them that Mary and I became fast friends. After moving back to Vancouver, I returned to visit in the Toronto area every year for the next 15 or 16.During every visit, Mary gathered 10 or 12 of the Beauties for tea and a wonderful time for remembering and laughing together. I'll always think of her as a very gracious lady with a marvelous sense of humour, who held a special place in my life during those years. Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your families,as you come to terms with the loss of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Evelyn M. Riley

We are sorry we are not able to be with you for the memorial service for Mary on thursday but you will all be very much in our thoughts and prayers. Mary was such a warm, caring and loving person and had such a wonderful sense of humour. We will always remember her love for life. She was always interested in what all the family and the extended family were doing. We have made a donation to the Childhood Cancer Foundation in her memory. Mary is the last of the Hendren siblings to pass on so a lot of history passes with her. Our sympathy goes out to you Ian and Shirley, Roger and Kate, Heather and Pat and all your families. May all the beautiful memories you have of Mary help to bring you peace. With our love from Terry and Ruth Harrold.

I read with sorrow the obituary in the Sudbury Star. Mary was a 'second mother' to me when I was starting out in my teaching career. My first job-in 1965-was in Sturgeon Falls and I lived across the street from the Youngs. It wasn't long before Mary invited me to dinner and from that time on I became a 'regular' in their home. I could not have been more fortunate! What wonderful people they were - including me in trips to the theatre in North Bay and to the cottage on Sandy Island and , of course, including me for many meals and cups of coffee. Mary's hospitality and caring made a huge difference that year!! I will never forget her and will miss our annual Christmas corespondence. My condolences to all of her family. She was a very special person.

I am one of the many people that has my heart touched by Mary and the late Dr. Percy Young. Mary has always open her heart to me as a young child. I was a weekly patient of Dr. Young, and Mary always open her door and heart to me. I was one of the only children that was at his retirerment party. Mary made feel like i was one of her own. I always remember her soft and gentle voice. She was a warm and gentle woman. I was blessed by her and in the passing of Percy she made contact with me and for her to go out of her way to find me years later because she knew how special they were both to me. Mary was a angle in my eyes. My sympathy is with you, but Mary is on her way to bless many more life in a special place now. and she may lay with her true love Dr. Percy...My thoughts will be with the family in your time of sorrow.. Sorry i am unable to attend but i will say a prayer for Mary..... Rollanda LeBelle Mitchell (Rolly). p.s. I still hold on to the charm bracelet that they both gave and and will cherish it for every...
