Dear Hank and family, I am thinking of you during these difficult days. I knew Caroline during her First Marathon summers. We played baseball together and she was so much fun to work with also. She loved to tease me (she was like her father that way!) and would light up the dull and quiet Computer dept when she came to visit. Be brave and try to treasure each day to come, Love, Gwen

I send my deepest smpathy to the Cunningham family.I am so sad to hear this news, what a tremendous loss. Caroline brought so much laughter and life to many of my days at Bishop's. We met at a Bakery Girls gathering one November evening in Lennoxville (I was in first year).I will NEVER forget our numerous potluck dinners, re-enacting scenes from Anne of Green Gables, apple picking in North Hatley, the marathon evening of perogi-making "madness" (with "Lizzie" too:)in the tiny kitchen of their Church Street apartment. ...She was one of the most giving, light-hearted spirits I had the great fortune to know during my time at B.U. Family meant so much to her, as she spoke fondly of her sister and parents often.I am comforted in knowing that I will see her again in heaven.

To my sister and her family: My first thoughts were shock and disbelief followed by deep sorrow. I was numb for a few days, unable to imagine the pain Kathleen, Valerie and Hank were going through. Then I realized that maybe now I could win a game of Balderdash! Although I only saw Caroline about once a year, she always made me feel like the most important person in the room. I knew for sure I must be her favourite uncle. If I was playing music she made me feel like the best entertainer in the world. She was always happy and smiling and joking and from the age of about 10 she was amazing at Balderdash, but even more amazing at life. I will miss her.

Hank,Val, Kathleen, we were so shocked and saddened by Carolines passing. I often think of the laughs the three muskateers as i called them (Korinna, Nat and CC)and I had at First Marathon. Her smile and spirit lit up the room. Her energy was boundless and contagious. Noone will replace her. I know Val was like a twin and my prayers go out to all of you. She is a special angel in heaven welcoming new angels everyday with her warm smile and her contagious spirit and they are so lucky to have her and we will all meet again. We think of all of the wonderful, fun filled times we've spent with the Cunningham family and the tremendous love Hank has for both of his daughters and Valerie and Caroline had for each other. The love in this family has always been always right on the surface and freely expressed - such a rare quality to observe. Caroline lived in this light, and the joy, and laughter that she brought to all is evidence of that. We will miss her terribly but together we will keep the wonderfull memories of her alive.

I know I have expressed how I feel to Val, but I wanted to ensure that I said this to CC's entire family. CC was one of a kind. Her personality and spirit was just huge. It overtook a room when she entered. She loved her causes, she felt strongly about so many things but was always willing to listen...then argue! haha I sat next to CC for quite a few years at GMP and I have to admit she made me laugh and shake my head in wonder on many occassions. She was such a character. She will never ever be forgotten, that would be impossible. You raised a wonderful free spirit who looked at the world and all it had to offer as a gift and one she would ensure she took in full and gave back as much. You must be proud parents and as a sister Valerie my dear, she adored you. Her friends at GMP are better for having known her and her untimely departure has effected so many I am not sure they will ever be the same. My condolences and heart is with you during this time, a time I cannot imagine having to endure. Nicolle
