But more importantly he was a great human being. We'll all miss him greatly! My sincere condolences, Mike Detty

It is with great sadness that I was informed of Ted's passing today, Monday April 2. My wife and I have just returned from a short vacation and we were both shocked to learn the news. Our friendship with Ted has lasted many years, and we have wonderful memories of him and his kindness, particularly at the birth of two of our children when Ted sent very thoughtful gifts which we still cherish. Ted was both a wonderful person and a gifted engineer and designer. His zest and love of life made us all realize how precious is this gift, and that we must enjoy ourselves here on earth and take pleasure in the good times. We will always remember him with joy in our hearts and a feeling of gratitude that we were able to know him. Please know too that Ted and all of his family are in our prayers. With heartfelt sympathy, Kevin & Joan Steele

We were deeply saddened to learn of our friend, Ted's, passing. We always enjoyed spending time with him at IWA and other trade shows. Ted had a quick mind and a dry sense of humor.... a great combination. We will miss him; and our hearts and prayers go out to his family. Our thoughts are also with Thanos, whom Ted told Annie in Nuremberg just a few weeks ago that he "fought with like a wife -- but loved like a brother." May Ted rest in peace.

I want to offer my deepest sympathy to the Szabo family. I first met Ted about 15 years ago through work (I was the company's banker). Even though I was later transfered to Bowmanville, Thanos, Ted and I would meet 2-3 times a year for lunch and conversation. Our conversations ranged from world events, to discussions about business to reminiscing about our youth (the fast cars we had back in the 60's). We both have a great interest in the latest electronic toys on the market and always had fun discussing and comparing notes. Ted was unique. He was special. I will miss Ted greatly. Ron Bailey

It's so hard to believe he's gone. My wife, Suzi and I know Ted from the wonderful industry we are in and were immediately taken by this big "bear" of a man. His roguish sense of humor and sly smile kept Suzi laughing whenever we were with Ted and Thanos. I will remember his "big life" and the fact he filled a room when he was in it. We will lift a glass of good wine in his honor and keep remembering this good man always. Our hearts go out to Ted's family

To Ted's Family, Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Ted was a unique individual and a man I was proud to work for and call my friend. May the peace and comfort of God be with you all during this time. On a professional level, Ted gave me my dream shot, the chance to lead the sales force of his company and take everything I have learned over twenty five years in the industry and put it to work in one place. His faith and trust in me has taken me beyond the limits that I had imagined for myself and led me to see that there are no limits to human imagination and no limits to what one can do with a bit of courage and a lot of hard work. On a personal level, that same trust and faith led to a friendship that I will always cherish. Ted, I can't quite imagine my world without you in it, but the good days and bad days and all the memories of our times together will be held in my heart for the rest of my life. Thank you for all that you are and for all that we are for having known you and worked with you. John

To the family of "Ted" Szabo It is with sorrow that I send this note to you. Having known Ted for over ten years, I always looked forward to seeing him at the trade shows and in Scarborough. His sense of humor, though different, was a pleasure. I will always hold a memory of our last get together at IWA2007. He had that wry smile when he told his stories. But most of all, I will remember talking to him about his son, William, and what a joy it was to have him with us in Germany. I will miss his "more than hearty" handshake!
