Obituary of Sheila Mary Bedoukian

SHEILA MARY BEDOUKIAN nee Bacon Passed away March 25, 2007 after a courageous few years of medical mayhem. Devoted mother to children Bennett and Emma, step mother to Josh and Taf, daughter to Sylvia, sister to Margaret, aunt to Bridget and Sally, Sheila will be fondly remembered by each of us. Sheila was predeceased by husband George Vipond and was the former wife of Peter Bedoukian. S heil a w a s a t v a r io us t ime s a management consultant, an artist and an activist for high quality public education. Sheila tackled her health problems the same way she approached life: with dry wit and humour, generosity and grace. Her tenacity and zest for life were the hallmarks of what one doctor described as her surprising durability. Such unbounded strength was continuously replenished by the help of her loving family, especially her son who donated his liver, and by her truly amazing groups of friends (the PSA ladies, the scrabble champions, the artists, the neighbors and the book club-to name a few). We would like to thank the extraordinary efforts of Dr. Lilly and the liver transplant team at TGH and the compassionate palliative doctors, nurses and homecare workers.
