Sandy: I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember working with Sean briefly after the HSBC / Gordon merger. I was not able to attend the funeral to pay my respects as it was more important to have Naglaa there, but wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. May may the gift of your son Liam and your memories help warm you and keep you strong. Sincerely, Beth Shaw

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again. from a sermon written by Henry Scott Holland and delivered in St. Paul's (London) on 15 May 1910 May the Lord help carry you thru these times.

I first met Sean up at the Delaney farm when he was about 17 or 18 years old. Sean tied a Christmas Tree to the top of my car, but when my son Michael and I were driving back to Toronto the tree blew off the car only to land on the highway in front of the police cruiser which was following behind. We had many laughs over this through the years and Sean told the story all over Bay street. Everybody loved this man, his sense of fun and his warmth toward his family and friends. He had the ability to make you feel really good and really special, and that's a gift. He will be missed.

Dear Sandy and Liam, Bruce, Charlie and I send you our love and support during this very difficult time. Bahamians have a saying that I find quite helpful sometimes: God does not put anything on your shoulders that you cannot lift. Though you may not be able to see your way through it now, this little saying reminds you that you will one day, and one day at a time. Please know that our door is always open should you decide you need a little sun, sand and sea; it does wonders for the spirit and the soul. All our blessing from the Bahamas, Beth Claridge Jones
